Hi! Thank you for visiting. My name is Bethany and I am starting this fund on behalf of my uncle, Gary Elkins, lovingly known by our family as “Uncle G.”

Anyone who knows Gary understands how much he is a force to be reckoned with. He is such a bright light in the lives of others and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need without ever asking for help for himself.

Recently, Uncle G has received some scary medical news requiring him to have three back to back surgeries to help limit the possibility of things getting worse. Uncle G has worked at the same job for longer than I’ve been alive (27 years to be exact) and being out of work is absolutely crushing him. Between the surgeries and physically not being able to go to work for the past three months, he has been set pretty far behind, especially considering the economic state of the U.S. at the moment. He will not be able to return to work until May at the very earliest, contingent on everything with his health stabilizing.

Uncle G has been helping others for as long as I can remember, myself and all of my siblings included, and has managed to tough out any personal storms on his own up until now. When he reached out to our family for help, I asked what he thought would be needed to cover his medical costs and him being out of work and his response was “I don’t even know, I’ve never even imagined this would be something I would have to do.” I cannot think of anyone more deserving of help and we promised him we would help in any way we can.

I know things are somewhat rough for a lot of people these days, and I know helping others is hard when you’re still seeking answers for yourself. I don’t know how to optimize this to reach as many people as possible or to be a breakthrough story that goes viral online, I just know my Uncle G needs help and we will do everything we can to make that happen. Even if you can’t donate, any support through sharing this and spreading the word, sharing a prayer, anything at all would be a great help.
