Katalin is raising funds for Uncle Don, a dedicated shoreline cleaner, artist, and educator on the Big Island of Hawaii. For decades, Uncle Don has faithfully collected marine debris from the shoreline, turning what was discarded into meaningful art and using it to teach local children in the Ka'u community. Hurricane Lala tore through and destroyed the marine debris processing/storage that meant so much to his work. Cabin /studio safe. While he is safe, the storm left behind heartbreaking damage to the very place he built with his own hands. He is going to be 74 on September 8th.
This fundraiser will help Uncle Don rebuild his, marine debris processing/storage so he can continue the work he has given so much of his life to: cleaning the shoreline, reusing marine debris through art, and educating keiki in his community. His space was not just a building, but a place for creativity, service, and learning. Any support, no matter the size, would mean so much and would help Uncle Don get back on his feet after this devastating loss. Please consider giving and sharing to help Uncle Don rebuild what Hurricane Lala took from him.
