Umer Majeed Shiehk has been my friend and business partner for 15 years. We’ve shared many experiences, and I’ve always admired his resilience and kindness. In June 2025, Umer’s life changed dramatically when he was in a terrible motorcycle accident that shattered his left hip. The injury required a painful surgery and a hip replacement, forcing him out of work for five months. During this time, his family’s savings were depleted as they struggled to cover medical bills and daily expenses.

Just as Umer was beginning to recover, his 3-year-old son became seriously ill and was hospitalized. The emotional and financial toll on the family has been immense. Now, Umer is facing yet another health crisis—an acute intestinal and stomach infection that requires urgent medical attention. With no income and mounting bills, his family is unable to absorb the cost of this new procedure, and the stress is overwhelming.

Umer recently told me, “If something happens to me and I don’t make it through, please keep in touch with my family and tell my son when he grows up that I was a good father and that I love him very much.” Hearing these words broke my heart.
