Hi everyone,
My name is Umar Abdullah, and I’m honored to have earned a spot to represent the United States at the 2025 IPF Bench Press World Championships in Drammen, Norway this May. As an elite, unsponsored American bench presser, I’ve dedicated years to this sport, pushing my limits to compete at the highest level.
Outside of powerlifting, I’m a middle school English teacher at a Title 1 school near Seattle, where I strive to inspire my students to dream big and work hard, just as I do in my own pursuits. Unfortunately, competing on the world stage comes with significant expenses—travel, lodging, competition fees, and equipment—all of which I must cover out of pocket.
That’s why I’m reaching out for support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help me chase this dream and proudly represent our country, my students, and the powerlifting community on the international stage.
Thank you for believing in me and being a part of this journey. If you can’t donate, sharing this would mean the world!
With gratitude,
Umar Abdullah
