Hi, I’m Ukulena, a local Southern California independent artist who has spent the past several years releasing music completely on my own. My first album "Don’t Let Go" was released in 2018, followed by "Only Daddy Calls Me Marley" in 2024, and now I’m finally bringing my absolute dream album to life: Mermaid Kisses, Starfish Wishes.

As of 12/21/25, I’ve recorded 14 brand new tracks live on 8-track tape reels — the same way albums were made in the 1960s — capturing a raw, vintage sound that feels timeless and true to my heart. Now comes the next (and most expensive) phase: overdubbing, mixing, and mastering. Full studio days average around $600, half days $300, and mixing/mastering can be about $250-$600 per song. Everything is moving beautifully, but as an independent artist balancing a day job, side work, bills, and live gigs, I’ve reached a financial roadblock. I’ve done everything on my own so far, but I truly need support to finish this record. This album means absolutely everything to me, and any contribution — big or small — helps bring Mermaid Kisses, Starfish Wishes safely to shore.
