Support Ukrainian Family Arriving in Detroit

Like so many others, my wife Natasha and I have been saddened and angered by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and ongoing war. As part of the US government's Uniting for Ukraine program, we've had the opportunity to sponsor Mariana and Oksana, two relatives of our friend Mariya, to come to the United States.

On Wednesday, June 22nd, they will arrive together in Detroit along with three other relatives (Olha, Viktoriia, and Maksym) and three family friends. Their journey to Detroit will include bus travel from Ukraine to Poland, and then air travel from Krakow through Amsterdam to Detroit. They are each arriving with one suitcase of possessions.

We are starting this fundraiser to provide additional support for our new friends as they get settled into their new home in Metro Detroit. That support will include:
