Hello, my name is Julia L., and I’m a triathlete from Cologne, Germany. This year, I’m taking on a triathlon not just as a personal challenge, but as a way to support civilians affected by the devastating conflicts in Ukraine and Palestine.
Both regions continue to experience immense suffering — from displacement to the loss of basic services and access to healthcare. While the causes and contexts may differ, the humanitarian need is urgent in both.
Who I’m Supporting
After completing my triathlon, I will divide the total funds raised equally (50/50) between two humanitarian organisations: one operating in Ukraine and one in Palestine.
Due to the rapidly evolving situations in both regions, I have chosen to wait until after the race to select the most effective and transparent charities. This ensures your donations go where they are most needed at the time and have the greatest impact. I will carry out thorough research and share the chosen organisations and donation receipts publicly on this page once the funds are transferred.
I have no personal connection to any specific charity; my goal is simply to support the people most affected.
How the Funds Will Be Used
100% of the funds raised will go directly to humanitarian relief efforts — I will not use any donations for personal expenses.
After the race, I will research and select two trusted charities (one for Ukraine, one for Palestine) and donate the funds equally through their official donation channels.
I will post proof of donation (e.g. receipts or transaction confirmations) on this GoFundMe page for full transparency.
Should any unexpected issues arise with donation logistics, I will communicate updates promptly and choose alternative reputable organisations.
Why I'm Doing This
Conflict and suffering should never become background noise. With this triathlon, I want to use my voice and effort to remind others that we can show solidarity across borders and bring support to those who need it most.
If you're able to contribute — whether it's a few cents or more — know that every contribution matters. Thank you for being part of this journey.
With heartfelt thanks,
Julia L.
