On October 11, 2026, I’ll be running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. I’m using this race to raise money for something very specific and very important: medical care for children and families in Ukraine.
Years into the war, Ukrainian civilians — especially children — continue to suffer from missile strikes, damaged hospitals, power outages, and displacement. Pediatric hospitals, trauma centers, and emergency medical teams work under constant strain, often during air raids and without reliable electricity. For many families, access to medical care is the difference between life and death.
To make sure that every dollar raised goes to Ukraine — and only to Ukraine — I’ve chosen to support UNITED24 Medical Aid.
UNITED24 is the official fundraising platform of the Government of Ukraine, created to provide transparent, direct support for critical needs inside the country. Because UNITED24 is not a U.S. charity, donations from this fundraiser are made through its official U.S. nonprofit partner, Ukraine House DC Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3). Funds raised are transferred onward to UNITED24 Medical Aid and used exclusively for medical care inside Ukraine.
This is a pass‑through partnership — Ukraine House DC does not run its own medical programs. Donations are routed directly to UNITED24 and allocated through Ukraine’s Ministry of Health.
Ukraine House DC Foundation
A home away from home Ukraine House is a home away from home for many Ukrainians by birth and Ukrainians by choice in Washington DC. It’s a place where ideas meet with people who are passionate about freedom and democracy and ready to fight for it. It is a center where Ukrainian heritage and heroic past meets Ukrainian modern and digital future. Our mission is to champion Ukraine in the USA Working in close synergy with the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA, Ukraine House is a place to discover Ukraine, taste Ukraine, hear Ukraine, support Ukraine, and invest in Ukraine, simply to be with Ukraine and to be Ukraine. Since Ukraine House was opened by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska in September 2021, we have successfully hosted 300 events.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a real impact. Even just a few dollars can help move this mission forward and reach those who need it most.
If you can’t donate right now, sharing this fundraiser is also incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. It means the world to me.
