Hello! We are Taara at UCLA, a student-led Indian Classical Dance team dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich traditions of Indian Classical arts and dance—including Bharatanatyam and Kathak—through performance, education, and storytelling. As a competitive, award-winning team, we proudly represent UCLA at national competitions that celebrate cultural diversity and artistic excellence.

Since the start of our team, we have competed on various national stages including Sitaara (in Seattle, Washington), Nakshatra (in Madison, Wisconsin), the World Cultural Dance Competition (in LA, California), and many more. We also perform at campus and local events to celebrate culture, spread the arts, and empower our student community.

However, these initiatives come with a heavy financial burden—with costs ranging from traveling across the country to covering travel, lodging, and competition fees. As passionate students and dancers, we rely on your generosity to help bring our vision to life. As we actively prepare for our upcoming competition season, your support will directly fund our national performances and local showcases, helping keep Indian Classical Dance accessible, visible, and celebrated.
