Mi nombre es Matías Pérez y soy originario de una comunidad llamada Emiliano Zapata, parte de la cultura indigena Tzeltal, en Chiapas, México. Hoy en día la mayor parte de mi comunidad aún vive en condiciones precarias debido al huracán Eta. Estoy recaudando fondos para mi comunidad para asegurar que las personas más afectadas tengan acceso a refugio y comida.
El huracán Eta ha golpeado a mi comunidad y a sus alrededores, este huracán ya ha tenido impactos devastadores: pérdidas humanas, animales, cosechas y casas. En mi comunidad ha estado lloviendo durante 15 días teniendo como consecuencias inundaciones, deslaves de cerros y desbordamientos de ríos, eso hace que pierdan todas sus siembras y cosecha y ahora están preocupados por su patrimonio y alimentos en el futuro.
Los fondos se irán directamente a las personas más vulnerables que necesitan acceso inmediato a alimentos y refugio. Se les apoyara con los siguientes insumos: Maíz, Frijol, Arroz, Pastas, aceite, artículos de higiene personal y medicina. Se mostrará fotos de las compras y beneficiaros.
Ya se han caído varios puentes, deslaves de cerros y esto dificulta aún más la distribución de recursos de un lugar a otro. Estos fondos irán a la gente de mi comunidad indígena una vez que termine el huracán ya que hay muchas inundaciones y daños a la infraestructura.
Hago un llamado para que pongas un granito de arena y así poder suplir comida y refugio a muchas familias indígenas de Chiapas, México. También, sé que estos son tiempos difíciles para todos, pero por favor done lo que pueda y comparta esto con sus redes. Cualquier apoyo ayuda.

My name is Matías Pérez and I’m from Emiliano Zapata, part of the Indigenous community of Tzeltal, in Chiapas, Mexico. My community has suffered greatly because of Hurricane Eta. I am trying to raise money for my community to make sure the most vulnerable living there are able to access food and shelter. Eta has hit ours and the surrounding areas and has had a devastating impact: we have lost lives, animals, harvests and homes. It has been raining for 15 days straight, causing floods, landslides, and overflowing rivers, which have robbed us of harvest and planting seasons and created great food insecurity.
The money from this fundraiser will go directly to the most vulnerable people who need immediate access to food and shelter. Your support will allow us to buy the following goods: corn, beans, rice, pasta, cooking oil, personal hygiene items, and medication. We will provide photos of the purchases and recipients.
There have been several fallen bridges and landslides that make resource distribution difficult. These funds will go to people once the hurricane ends, because of the floods and damage to the infrastructure.
I am asking you to contribute your own grain of sand to this cause, so that we can supply food and shelter to many Indigenous families in Chiapas, Mexico. I know that these are difficult times for everyone, but please donate what you can and share this with your networks. Any amount helps.
