It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic loss of our dear friend, father, and community member, Tyrone Henderson-Bartley. Tyrone was killed by the Orlando Sheriffs Office during a failed SWAT sting operation, where he was not the prime suspect.

Tyrone was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Tyrone did not have the easiest life growing up, but he always found a way to make the best of his circumstances. His passion for music led him to become a proud member of the Florida A&M Marching 100, where he played trombone with unwavering dedication. In addition to his musical talent, Tyrone was a business owner, a talented musician, and, most importantly, a devoted father to his young daughter.

Tyrone’s infectious smile and resilient spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was not just a friend but a brother to many, always willing to lend a hand and support those around him.

We are reaching out to the community to help us give Tyrone the farewell he deserves. The funds raised will go toward funeral arrangements, which we are keeping to a bare minimum with the support of friends and family. The remaining amount will be placed in a trust for his daughter to support her future.

My name is Maxwell Stuart, and I am one of the many close friends who had the privilege of knowing Tyrone Henderson-Bartley. To me, Tyrone wasn’t just a friend; he was like a little brother. I had the honor of teaching him to play the trombone, guiding him from those early notes to the remarkable talent that eventually took him to college. As his mentor, confidant, and big brother, I watched Tyrone grow, persevere, and flourish despite the challenges life threw his way.

Our bond was built on a foundation of music, friendship, and unwavering support for one another. Tyrone’s passion, determination, and spirit were infectious, and I take pride in having played a small part in helping him follow his dreams, including his journey as a musician with the Florida A&M Marching 100.

I am heartbroken by the loss of my friend, but I am determined to carry on his legacy by supporting his family and his daughter. Tyrone was a father, musician, business owner, and, above all, a resilient soul who never gave up. He deserved so much more than what life gave him.
