Hello, my name is Desiree, and I am Tylie's mother. I am reaching out for help and support for my daughter during this critical time.
Tylie has been facing some of the toughest challenges in her life. She was supposed to head off to college this month, but instead, we are focusing on helping her regain her mobility and take back control of her life after a rare disorder has stolen it from her. We are grateful that UCLA provided the diagnosis and has helped us develop a recovery plan. However, we know that this is something Tylie will have to manage for the rest of her life.
Let me give you a little background on my overachieving, intellectual, and artistic one-of-a-kind girl.
At just 15, Tylie battled anorexia nervosa, reclaimed her health, and graduated high school with honors, earning a full academic scholarship to Lewis and Clark College. But just as her future was beginning, everything changed.
Tylie began to develop uncontrollable tremors, brain fog, severe pain, and lost the ability to walk and talk. She was later diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a rare condition where the brain’s signals to the body do not work correctly.
There is currently no known cure for FND, but there is hope.
Tylie has been accepted into a 12-week Functional Neurology Rehab Program at RE+ACTIVE PT & Wellness, one of the few clinics in the country specializing in FND recovery. This treatment could be life-changing for Tylie, providing her with the tools to manage her symptoms and regain her life.
Unfortunately, the cost is overwhelming, The cost of the neuro rehab program alone is $34,000. On August 18th, she will also require an MR Neurography scan, which costs $7,500, to check for nerve damage.
Tylie has endured weekly ER visits, hospital stays, and numerous specialist consultations, including every imaginable test. We are humbly asking for your support to help Tylie get the treatment she so desperately deserves. Your donation will go directly toward covering the costs of Tylie's recovery treatment. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to giving Tylie the future she deserves.
If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this campaign and Tylie's story. Additionally, your prayers for her recovery would mean so much to us. Every share matters, and every kind word makes a world of difference in her healing journey.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for taking the time to read Tylie’s story and for standing with us on this journey that no family should ever have to take. Your generosity, kindness, and prayers mean the world to our family, and we are forever grateful.
Together, we can make a difference and help give our girl a fighting chance.
With love and gratitude,
Tylie’s Family
