In the early hours of March 31st, 2025, my brother Tyler was driving home from night shift when he was involved in a single-car accident that changed his life in an instant.

He sustained multiple traumatic injuries, including spinal fractures from C7 to T7, sternal and radius fractures, and a serious spinal cord injury. Tyler underwent emergency spinal surgery and has been receiving intensive care ever since. The operation was a success, and while we remain hopeful, it’s still too early to know the full extent of his future mobility. He is now preparing to begin an intensive rehabilitation and therapy journey—one that will be critical in helping him achieve the best possible outcome.

Tyler has always been passionate about fitness and soccer. Whether it was running or kicking a ball around with mates, being active has always been a core part of who he is. Losing that freedom so suddenly has been heartbreaking—but Tyler’s resilience shines through.

He’s now learning to navigate the ward using a power wheelchair, pushing through daily rehab with determination and courage. But the reality is, the road ahead is long, and he can’t do it alone.
