After a week of the whole family being sick, Tyler started getting worse. I took him to urgent care Monday, February 17th, where the doctor said he was dehydrated. She prescribed him antibiotics and a steroid inhaler. Tuesday, he started his medications and rested most of the day. By Wednesday, he was lethargic, breathing rapidly, and his knees and elbows were purple. I took him to the emergency room where they quickly triaged him and whisked him to the back. We quickly found out he had pneumonia and was in diabetic ketoacidosis. They treated him overnight in the ER and admitted him to the ICU the following day, which is where he has been since. It was truly terrifying and we almost lost him. He is making small improvements daily but will still be in the hospital for another couple of days, and we are unsure when he will return to work following his release.
Tyler is the main provider in our family. I work part-time and take care of the kids. Any donation is much appreciated and will be going towards household bills and medical bills until he can return to work. Thank you so much.
