I'm Danielle, I have had the extraordinary pleasure of having Tyler as one of my closest friends since high school. Add to it that he married my best friend Lamira, and we have the best time on a daily basis navigating life together.
Tyler suffered a stroke in early December stemming from a recently discovered genetic hole in his heart (PFO). While we are forever thankful that Tyler is still here with us, the road to recovery is going to be long and require the support of their community.
Tyler, as many of you know, works for the USPS and spends all day long on his feet (which likely saved his life). While he is recovering and working to get back to 100 he is going to be out of work. That in conjunction with their medical bills and a toddler means they could really use the support of their community in bridging this time until he is back to his old self!
His journey ahead includes heart surgery (to close the PFO) and extensive speech therapy. Luckily, Tyler is strong and has an army of supportive family and friends to help him through this time.
There isn't a gift too small because giving even a small amount is showing them you care. (Wow that was cheesy, but I mean it.)
If you aren't able to give, never fear, there will be many ways to support them in the coming months and years. Send words of encouragement to Tyler via voice memo or voice message (skip the text). It brings a huge smile to his face!
Thank you all for being here, caring about Tyler, Lamira & Sufjan, and being the best community out there.
