My brother Tyler was jumped two nights ago. He is in critical but improving conditions. He is still on a ventilator. They have been waking him up every hour to do checks on him and making sure he can follow commands.
We do not know how long he will be out of work but he is the main source of income for the household of the property him and my sister live in and bought.
UPDATE 8/12 we are waiting to see if they can take the ventilator out and if he will be able to breathe on his own and keep it out.
last night they let him sleep and did not do any checks. They were going to leave sedation off but Tyler kept waking up and sitting forward in bed trying to get his tube out of his mouth.
8/12 pm update
they were able to take Tyler fully off the ventilator he is fully breathing on his own and does have a nose cannula for oxygen. When they took out the ventilator Tyler’s gf Savanna was there along with his dad (mom was picking up sister to bring her to hospital and was aware they were taking it out) he was speaking full sentences and knew who everyone was. He is no longer sedated but he told his night nurse that he is very tired. They are going to let him sleep the night through without hourly checks. They are talking about introducing some kind of food tomorrow possibly but for now he has ice chips.
