I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when I was ten years old. I have a rare form of MS called Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder. This MS affects the central nervous system, causing severe inflammation of the optic nerves and spinal cord. For me, this MS causes fatigue and pain in my back, neck, and legs. My vision is also affected, causing my eyesight to sometimes be blurry or double.

As of 2012, I was in remission after having treatments of a drug called Rituximab.

In January of this year, I went to see a specialist at UCSF to check on the status of my MS. After some blood work and an MRI, doctors have determined that I am now out of remission and in need of treatment again. I will soon be starting infusions of a drug called Inebilizumab.

I do not know what effects this new medicine will have on me. I have hope that I will not need to miss work, but I am unsure if that will be the case.

I am also not sure what portion of the medication and hospital visits will be covered by my insurance. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page and making a donation!
