Hello, I'm Tyler Hoben, and I appreciate you taking time to read my story. Ten years ago, our family went to a Petco in Kirkland looking to adopt a cat. When we picked out the grey tabby with the giant paws and named her after the tallest mountain in North America, I'm not sure we knew just how much she would embody it! Our cat Denali has such a unique personality. Whether she's entirely on your lap or just has a paw on your leg, if she's near you, she always needs to be touching you. She loves to bunny-kick her toys, and on occasion, steal her sister's food. She's larger than life in more ways than one, and I'm not sure I could imagine a life without her.

Unfortunately, Denali has a mass on her neck that continues to grow. CT and ultrasound imaging has shown that it is close to and/or wraps around one of her jugular veins. As of July 25th, it's 2 inches wide and 5 inches long (5cm x 12cm). Our local vet has said they're not comfortable doing the surgery because of the mass's size and location, and referred us to a number of more specialized animal hospitals. We've been given quotes of around $6,000, which is difficult to bear with our family's financial situation. I've set the goal to $4,000 in hopes that we can make up the other $2,000 in loans and savings.
