Early Saturday morning, December 6, my son, Tyler, and his family experienced the unthinkable — their home and everything inside it was lost in a sudden, devastating fire. Thankfully, they are alive, but they escaped with only the clothes they were wearing.

They have lost:

• All personal belongings

• Furniture and beds

• Clothing and shoes

• Children’s toys, school items, and necessities

• Appliances and essentials

• Every memory-filled item a family can hold dear

As they start the long emotional and financial road of rebuilding, I am asking for help on their behalf. They are currently struggling to secure temporary housing, replace necessities, and start over from scratch.

The children are still asking when they can go home… when they can see their tree… when Christmas is coming.

As a parent and a grandparent, it breaks my heart to know there is no home to return to, and no Christmas morning waiting for them there.
