Tyler's Dream to Heal and Empower Young Lives
Donation protected
My name is Tyler Hogan. I graduated with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling with Distinction from Hofstra University and raised over $10,000 through a fundraiser for homeless teens. Graduating the year of COVID set me back significantly. I am in the process of getting back on my feet to be the therapist I know I can and need to be. I’ve been spending spare cash on trainings and rebuilding, but need more bulk money to pay for the really good ones that are nation-wide accredited. The whole reason I became a therapist was so that no one had to go through what I did as a teenager. I’m getting extremely close to getting there, but with any extra help at all, even pocket change, it adds up and I might be able to finish getting my Institutional Accreditation for EMDR and become a certified trauma professional. I really aim to help a demographic that is completely invisible right now; those Complex (or developmental) PTSD. Abuse, neglect, maltreatment, substance use, etc. all contribute to this without anyone (parents and children included) having any idea. Yet 7 of my last 10 referrals have been in reference to something pertaining to symptoms that come from this diagnosis. All of your donations will be taken in the effort to help me get the proper certifications in place so I can achieve my dream and really begin helping people recover from past experiences before they hit their 30s or later when it becomes much harder.
Thank you to anyone who even read this far and thank you especially to everyone who makes a donation to make this happen. Your support just further proves that I’m blessed in so many ways, and especially to be in the career I’m in where I can use this to affect real change for people.
Thank you all once again.
