Support Tyler's Battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Donation protected
Though many of you don't yet know, this summer, my son Tyler was diagnosed with stage 2 Classic Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He and his wife Katie had to quit their jobs in Georgia and move back to Sylva to receive treatment and be nearer to family. While we were blessed to receive the news that he would not need radiation, he will have to have chemo. Due to the location of the tumors in his jaw/neck/collarbone area, he is not a candidate for surgery.
At this time, Katie is cleaning for a family member to earn a little money. This is not enough to take care of all their financial obligations, so I am reaching out to our community for help during this difficult season in their young lives.
Anything you can do to help is appreciated! If you cant help, we understand! Prayers are appreciated too!
11/07/24 Update-- Tyler had his second round of chemo today. He has done well but, as expected, he feels bad afterward. He has seen your donations and is very appreciative!! He will have a 2 week break until his next dose of chemo. The doctor said he could visibly see Tyler's jaw mass decreasing in size!! Please keep Tyler and Katie in your thoughts and prayers.
11/11/24--Tyler had a rough weekend. This second round of chemo made him feel "the worst I've ever felt in my life." He began to lose his hair and decided to go ahead and shave his head. "Chemo brain" is a real thing and Tyler is feeling the effects that entails. The steroids that go along with chemo make him extremely hungry and have insomnia. Yesterday he received some extra prayers from Lighthouse Baptist Church that were very appreciated! Tyler's next round of chemo will be the week after next and then he will have another scan to see how the chemo is working. I will keep you updated as his journey continues. We truly appreciate the donations that he has received!
