Support Tyler Rudy's Heart Recovery Journey

Donation protected
Hi my name is Lorena Rudy and my husband and best friend Tyler Rudy needs help during this time of recovery. On October 5th my daughter and I woke up to the sound of Tyler gasping for air while he was sleeping which I knew something wasn't right because the same thing happened in April also while he was sleeping but this time was way worse and I immediately called 911 and then tried my hardest to get him to breathe like I did in April, but this time he was in an awkward position in bed and I couldn't get to his airway. The fireman got there very quickly and confirmed what I already knew that Tyler had no pulse and was in Cardiac Arrest. They immediately grabbed him off our bed put him on the kitchen floor and started CPR. I felt as if I was going to faint. I can't lose my husband and love of my life. They had to shock his heart three times and had to do CPR for 20 mins, but they was able to get a slight pulse before they took him to the hospital. He had to be sedated and on a ventilator for 48hrs. They had to cool his body to a hypothermic state so they could save his brain neurons. Once he woke up off the ventilator he was alert and the doctors and nurses were amazed at how well he did after waking up. He had surgery a couple days after waking up to have a pacemaker and defibrillator placed on his heart. He is doing remarkable considering what his heart and brain has gone through. Our family of three has had a lot of hospital stays in the past four years. Our daughter has to have surgery to remove her tonsils and adinoids on November 4th. Tyler is the breadwinner in our small family, and he won't be back to work in at least five weeks. We can't catch a break it seems. We know times are tough on everyone right now so if you aren't able to donate we completely understand. The donations we do receive will go towards rent, bills, groceries, and gas to get to doctor appointments. We appreciate everyone who has already helped us out in many ways. We are so happy that Tyler overcame this nightmare but his heart is going to have to heal and he will just have to take it easy for the time being. Tyler is a very compassionate guy and loves helping others whether it's someone who needs electric work done, grass cut, or just about anything. Let's show Tyler some support during his recovery time so he is not so stressed out about bills and etc. Thank you so much from the Rudy Family!
