Tyler and Monica Hicks are walking through a tough week as their 8-month-old son, Nixon, has been admitted to the hospital due to ongoing seizure activity and high fevers. He’s expected to stay for at least three days while doctors run several expensive tests and consult with a neurologist.

Monica will be off work all week without pay so she can be with Nixon, and the hospital they were sent to is not the main hospital her insurance covers. They also have a high deductible, and after that, insurance only covers 60% of the remaining costs.
