Support Tyger’s Cats: Knox, Fuzz, and Bitty Need You

Hi, my name is Tyger, and I’m a small-time streamer on Twitch. I’m reaching out today to ask for help caring for my pets.

Recently, my rent increased by $75, and like everything else, the cost of living continues to rise. As a small streamer, I don’t make enough to cover these added expenses—but I am trying my best.

Because of local pet laws, I’m required to have all three of my cats examined, vaccinated, and licensed. In previous years, we were able to manage these costs. We live paycheck to paycheck, but we always had just enough left over to cover their care—until now. That’s why I’m here asking for help.

I have three cats: Knox, Fuzz, and Bitty. Knox (striped) and Fuzz (small black cat) have been with us since 2008. Bitty (a large tuxedo cat) is a stray we took in back in October 2015.

Due to his age, Knox has lost most of his teeth and is slowly going blind. Fuzz has a thyroid condition, and her teeth are also starting to decline. Despite this, all three cats are currently healthy and receive regular yearly vet checkups. Knox and Fuzz are still active and full of life. Bitty has separation anxiety and rarely leaves my side, but he is otherwise in good health.

Additional Background

In November 2016, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. I went into remission in June 2017, but the chemotherapy left me with lasting nerve damage in my legs, as well as PTSD from long hospital stays. I had to go through treatment alone, as I have no family in the state and my husband had to continue working to support us.

My husband now works from home so he can help take care of me. In December 2019, our only vehicle was totaled when another driver made a sudden left turn into traffic. Thankfully, I was not injured, but the small payout we received had to be used for living expenses after my husband lost his job during COVID.

Because of social anxiety, I am unable to use public transportation, which limits the type of work I can do. Being in my 40s, with both physical and mental health challenges, finding stable employment has been extremely difficult. I am currently in the process of applying for disability.

Monthly & Required Costs

Vet exam: ~$100 per cat
License: $18 per cat (+ $20 late fee)

Food (monthly):

Dry food: $6.30 per bag (mix of indoor, gentle, and senior formulas)
Canned food: $20.58 (about 25 days, given at dinner)
Delectables Stew (Knox’s breakfast): $14.24 (12-pack)
Additional food for Knox: $4.20 (5 cans)
Delectable Bisque (for medication): $2.46 (2-pack)

Other monthly costs:

Litter: $52 ($13 per 20 lbs weekly)
Litter trash bags: $7.56 (20 count; I scoop twice daily due to limited space)
Medications:
Feline nasal & sinus relief: $20
Pain medication: $18.23

I’m asking for $600 to help cover these expenses, along with rising rent, delivery fees, and other basic costs.

I know this is a lot to ask, and I don’t expect anything—but I’m hoping someone will care enough to help.

It’s not easy asking for help. I just don’t want to face the possibility of surrendering my cats. Knox and Fuzz, especially, would never understand what’s happening or why I’m suddenly gone from their lives. They’ve only ever known a life with me and my husband. Even thinking about that possibility is heartbreaking.

If you’ve ever loved an animal, you understand.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any support—whether a donation or simply sharing—means more than I can express.
