Hello Family and Friends,
My name is Tyerica, and I am currently battling colon cancer while also living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I am scheduled for surgery at the end of September, and I will need about 8 weeks of recovery time. Unfortunately, during this time I will be on an unpaid leave of absence from work, and there are also medical expenses that my insurance does not cover.
What is Colon Cancer?
Colon cancer begins in the large intestine (colon), which is one of the most important parts of the digestive system. It can cause severe abdominal pain, fatigue, changes in digestion, and weight loss. In many cases, surgery is required to remove the affected part of the colon, and recovery can be long and difficult.
What is Multiple Sclerosis (MS)?
MS is a chronic condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. It causes the immune system to mistakenly attack the protective covering of nerves, leading to problems with movement, balance, vision, and muscle strength. It can make everyday tasks harder and exhausting. Living with MS means my body is already fighting every day to function, and facing colon cancer on top of that has been an overwhelming battle.
Why I Need Support
Recovering from colon surgery while also managing MS will be physically, emotionally, and financially challenging. Because I will not be able to work during recovery, I will lose income, and the out-of-pocket costs of surgery and care will create a heavy burden.
Any donation, no matter the size, will help me cover medical bills, living expenses, and the essentials I need to get through this season. Even if you cannot give financially, your prayers, love, and sharing of this fundraiser mean the world to me.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for walking with me through this journey. With your support, I can focus on healing, recovery, and staying strong in this fight.
