Ty Schmidt, a beacon of light, sits here in a man's ultimate circle. A man with many names; I know him as friend and Brother. As we wait for when he sits with us again; charity calls our name. Ty Schmidt, ever-charming and full of warmth, who continues to bring joy to our hearts. I ask you now to give what you can, without inconvenience to yourself.
D-Day of 2025 carries a new meaning for the Schmidt family. On June 6th, Ty began experiencing what may have seemed like a simple stomach issue—perhaps just a reaction to something he ate. Little did we know that the man and woman who were embracing the joys of life after work, setting goals, and dreaming of chasing grandkids together would soon have to put those plans on hold.
The rest of June found no comfort for Ty, as his routine diet was disrupted and he continued to struggle to enjoy solid foods. As July came to a close, the unsettling buzz of the dreaded “C” word refused to fade. By then, Ty had lost a significant amount of weight—and more critically, the nutrients and strength needed for the battle ahead. On August 1st, the diagnosis was confirmed: pancreatic cancer.
Ty is now in the early stages of chemotherapy and facing an intensive treatment journey. The Schmidt family needs our help. The financial burden of these procedures will grow and become increasingly difficult to manage. We’ve all heard the saying, *“Many hands make light work.”* Now is the time to live that truth.
Please consider making a financial contribution to help the Schmidts prepare for the road ahead. Hug your loved ones. Remember, we never know the hour when life may change in an instant. But we do know this: it is our duty to step up and support a friend, a Brother, a fellow human in need.
Ty would do it for you—quietly, without asking for recognition. Let’s honor that spirit by doing the same for him.
