Support Ty Martiniuk and Family

Hi, our names are Andrea Hart and Sarah Paulson.

We are mobilizing the community to support the Martiniuk family—Daryn, Adele, Ty, and Nahla—during this urgent time of need. Over Easter weekend, Ty was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-Cell ALL). On Thursday evening, Ty and Daryn went to the emergency room, and by the end of that night, they received the harrowing news: Ty has cancer. He was transported immediately to BC Children's Hospital (BCCH) in Vancouver.

We are incredibly fortunate to know this family and call them friends. Daryn and Adele exemplify selflessness, dedicating their lives to serving others. Now, it is our turn as a community to step up and provide the support they need. Accepting help is an act of courage, and Daryn and Adele are bravely accepting assistance during this difficult time.

Ty is currently facing a treatment regimen that spans 24 to 30 months. He has already begun the first phase, called the induction phase, and will be at Vancouver's Children's Hospital for at least the next 90 days. After this first period, it is hoped that Ty will be able to return home, resume some of his regular activities, all while continuing to have his care managed by the team at BCCH and his loved ones.

One of their greatest financial challenges right now is the daily commute to Vancouver. While Daryn remains by Ty's side in the hospital, Adele is traveling back and forth to provide support to Ty and to care for Nahla and the dogs at home. She is committed to bringing Ty healthy meals in Vancouver almost daily to lift his spirits.

We are determined to raise funds to ensure that Ty’s friends and his family can visit him regularly and help his family settle once Ty returns home. Despite Ty’s courageous efforts to stay strong, this situation is weighing heavily on him, and we must rally together to provide the support he needs. Let’s come together as a community and show the Martiniuks that they are not alone.
