Two Come Calling is a final year student short film about cultural memory, identity, and what happens when we lose touch with where we come from.

My name is Alyssa Charles and I'm a Barbadian film student at George Brown College in Toronto, Canada. I moved to Toronto looking for new experiences, but over time I began to feel a deep homesickness and a fear that pieces of my culture were slipping away. This film grew out of that feeling. It follows Anaya, a young Caribbean woman living in Toronto, who is visited by two folklore spirits that test her connection to home. When she can no longer remember a song her grandmother once sang to her, the memories tied to it disappear.

This project is inspired by Caribbean folklore, and the cultures that my family comes from. It is about the quiet ways culture can fade, and the choice we have to hold on.

As a student production, every donation goes directly toward feeding our cast and crew, creating authentic costumes and sets, and bringing this story to life with care and respect. Any amount makes a real difference!

By supporting this film, you’re helping support Caribbean stories and uplift emerging Caribbean voices in film.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting. ❤️
