Twinkle didn't have an easy start in life, in October 2024 she was found wandering the streets alone. She was handed into a local Bunny sanctuary where she was rehabilitated and received the dental care she desperately needed and given another shot at being someones loving family member. In November she became apart of my family shortly thereafter she met one of my other rabbits (from the same local charity that was Twinkles sanctuary) Bruno and they hit it off and this should of been forever. However in January of this year (2025) baby boy Bruno passed away suddenly. Twinkle took this extremely hard and was becoming depressed, not very interested in food or interacting so she gained a new friend in Whiskey who we decided to foster to adopt to be her new forever partner.
This seemed to help Twinkle become less depressed, she was still loosing a considerable amount of weight no matter how much she was fed. On the 9th of February she stopped eating as much and a quick call to her vets told me it could possibly be more dental issues and they gave us an appointment for the 10th so that she could have a examination. Along with this appointment it was advised to start assist feed with a syringe every 4 hours night and day so that's what we did much to Twinkles disagreement.
At her appointment it was discovered that her stomach felt abnormal and it is suspected that she might be impacted and needed to stay in overnight on IV fluids. So Twinkle got a sleepover at the vets and was cared for by an extremely knowledgeable and kind staff who did everything they could to make sure she was comfortable.
On the 11th she had an X-ray done and they are trying to get some bloods, on the X-ray it did show something in her stomach however the vets want to make sure that whatever it is they have found they can be certain of what it possibly is. Her current vet bill is upwards of £2000, this covers her overnight stays, pain relief, X-rays, CT scan and potentially surgery.
Twinkle is an absolute amazing rabbit and she is like a dog in a rabbits body she is just so loving and sweet. She is amazing at bringing joy to our lives every single day and most will say she is "just a rabbits" but she is my world, part of my family and I ask if you can just to donate even 1p as this is 1p closer to our goal of giving Twinkle the best chance at having the most amazing life she can have.
Let's bring my baby home her new partner is already missing her and she is missed by the whole family.
I want to thank you for even reading this and hope your able to share this far and wide. Lets show everyone that our babies no matter how small or big that they matter as much as each other.
