Support Twiggy's Urgent Vet Care Needs

Hello. My name is Liz and I am putting together this campaign to help afford vet care related to multiple illnesses that my partner and I's 5-year-old cat, Twiggy, was just diagnosed with. We adopted Twiggy from a foster system in Chicago back in 2020 and have thankfully had no issue covering her routine medical expenses. She has been a constant joy not only in our lives and the life of our 2nd cat, Cat Stevens, but to anyone who has been in our home.

Twiggy has had essentially no health issues in her life until now, which has changed since she has developed a food allergy that is causing her skin issues, her coat thinning out, gastrointestinal issues (including repeat vomiting), as well as repeat ear infections. In addition to this, she has developed severe gingivitis that will result in several of her teeth needing to be extracted. We have set up her dental appointment for March 5th and payment will be due at the time we drop her off.

We have a pet insurance plan for Twiggy, but since she was in such good health before this, our current plan that runs until May does not cover reimbursement for her illnesses or dental care. The bill for her examination that led to these diagnoses was $900, and the estimate from our vet for her dental work is $1,600. This includes her exam, blood work, blood tests, medicines, and the March 5th procedure.

Money donated will go straight to these bills. As we said, managing Twiggy's routine care has always been affordable for us but times are tough this year and an unexpected $2,500 is a lot for us to cover among other expenses like rent, utility bills, and regular expenses for Twiggy and our other cat. I work full-time as a library worker while my partner works from home as a freelance visual artist. We are deeply dedicated cat parents and we just need help with the exorbitant prices that come with vet care.
