The death toll climbed to more than 5,000 Tuesday after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake and a series of violent aftershocks early Monday morning destroyed thousands of buildings along the Turkish-Syrian border.

Rescue crews in both countries continued Tuesday to pick through the rubble for victims. More than 20,000 people were reported injured.

These organizations said they were on the ground in Turkey and Syria to help victims and were accepting donations.

I wanted to reach out and let you know I'm coordinating relief efforts for Turkey with my brother Bassam Hadi. For those of you who do not know, my brother lives and works in Antalya, Turkey. He is boots on the ground working with his community and business partners there to establish temporary housing and provide supplies to the victims.
