Hi everyone, We are reaching out during a very difficult and unexpected time for our family. Recently, our mom, Tuesdi, underwent several tests, including an MRI and CT scan, and her doctors confirmed that she has a tear in her aortic valve. This is a serious heart condition that requires open-heart surgery, scheduled for January 12th. During this procedure, her damaged valve will be removed and replaced so she can continue living a full and healthy life.
While we are grateful that her condition was caught in time and that surgery is possible, the recovery process will be long. Once the surgery is complete, she will be hospitalized in the Cardio-Thoracic Intensive Care Unit at WakeMed. This will be followed by six weeks of recovery at home. She will spend 2 months unable to work. Unfortunately, our mom does not have sufficient insurance or paid medical leave to cover this extended time off. This means she will be facing lost wages, medical expenses, prescription costs, and basic living expenses during her recovery — all while focusing on healing.
We are asking for support to help ease the financial burden so she can focus on what matters most: her health and recovery. Funds raised will go toward lost income during recovery, medical bills and follow-up care, medications and rehabilitation needs, and household and essential living expenses. Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please consider sharing this fundraiser to help us reach others who may be able to help. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, support, prayers, and kindness during this time. We truly appreciate every gesture of support. With gratitude, Tuesdi’s Kids
