Support Tubby's Journey to Recovery

My name is Briana and I’m Tubby’s mom. Tubby isn’t just a dog to me, she’s my everything. From the moment I saw her, I knew I was meant to be her mommy. She is so full of life and nothing keeps her down. Her favorite things to do are eat (hence the name Tubby), ride in her stroller, car rides with her sisters, and cuddling up in bed with her family. One year ago Tubby was diagnosed with diabetes and began having seizures. 3 months later her strange neurological behavior returned despite receiving treatment for her diabetes. In September last year she had an MRI and she was diagnosed with meningoencephalitis of unknown origin. This is an autoimmune disease that causes the body’s own immune system to begin attacking the brain and spinal cord causing inflammation that can lead to serious neurological complications. Thankfully Tubby was put on steroids and immunosuppressants that helped her, however the same steroids that help her also cause other issues with her diabetes. For 6 months Tubby has fought her disease and improved. However, in March of this year she became blind due to her diabetes and about a month later she began not being able to walk as a result of her neurological disease after stopping steroids. We’ve taken her to two neurologists to seek out new treatments but these did not work for her. She is now in the hospital suffering from a GI bleed and also she was in a life threatening diabetic crisis. We brought her to the best hospital that Florida has to offer and thankfully she is recovering everyday. However, she will most likely need to receive care for multiple days. If you’ve ever loved someone, a pet or a human so deeply I ask you to empathize with Tubby’s story and help us fight for her life. She’s been through so much in her 6 years of life but everyday she fights to be here with her family despite her sickness. No amount is too small, everything is greatly appreciated♥️
If you cannot donate, all I ask is for prayers for her health and that I can bring her home happy & healthy, thank you.
