Tuan came to the United States when he was just six years old in the 1970s, he has only known this country as his home. Growing up, his family was in poverty, but despite the challenges and financial hardships, today he is an incredible man with a loving family and he lives everyday to support his wife and children.
Tuan helped his wife raise two children, both graduating from UC colleges. As a devoted family man who lives for others, he works long shifts, often 12-15 hours at a time, resting little, only do it all over again to give his family a future. Tuan is hardworking provider and a man with a big heart who wants to live a peaceful life with his wife and children, however even during his darkest hours his compassion and love to help others around him shows through his acts of kindness.
Tuan’s entire life changed a few months ago, when he was detained at the beginning of 2026. During his first few days being unjustly separated from his wife, he witnessed an older gentleman who was cold and shivering and he offered him his blanket. During his time at the Adelanto Detention Center, he frequently bought extra food to give to others, as the food given to detainees was so putrid.
Tuan’s story is one of compassion, resistance and love. Even during his most difficult times, he found it within him to show kindness to others. Most of all, his story is one of steadfast commitment to his family.
Even after all he has faced, and the major win of being reunited with his family, Tuan's struggle is not over. He now continues a legal battle to ensure his right to remain with his family in this country which is his home. We ask for your support by donating to Tuan's lawyer fees.
