A Scam Awareness Training Program Supporting Financial Institutions and Older Adult Customers

Financial scams have become a material and growing risk for banks and financial institutions serving older adult customers. As fraud tactics increasingly leverage automation, social engineering, and artificial intelligence, traditional customer warnings and static education materials are no longer sufficient to prevent losses.
While banks continue to invest heavily in fraud detection and transaction monitoring, many scam losses occur before systems can intervene — driven by customer decision-making under pressure.
TSS Foundation has developed a practical, deployable training solution designed to address this critical gap.

SATA: Scam Awareness Training Application
SATA (Scam Awareness Training Application) is a production-ready, interactive training platform that enables older adults to safely experience realistic scam scenarios before real financial loss occurs.
Rather than relying solely on awareness messaging, SATA uses hands-on simulation to train pattern recognition, judgment, and response behaviors across common scam channels, including:
• Phone-based impersonation scams
• Email and text-based fraud attempts
• Urgency and authority-based social engineering
• In-person scam scenarios

This approach mirrors how scams actually unfold, allowing participants to build practical skills in a controlled, risk-free environment.
SATA is designed for deployment by:
• Banks and financial institutions
• Community banks and credit unions
• Nonprofits and senior-serving organizations working in partnership with financial institutions

The platform is web-based, senior-friendly, and immediately deployable.

Platform Demonstration
Below is a short demo of SATA, illustrating how the training environment works and how participants interact with realistic scam scenarios:

This is not a concept or prototype. SATA is already built and ready for expanded deployment.

How Campaign Funds Are Used
Funding from this campaign supports expanded deployment and refinement of SATA, including:
• Secure hosting and infrastructure
• Development of new scam scenarios aligned with emerging fraud trends
• Deployment to senior populations through trusted organizations
• Measurement and reporting of participation and training outcomes
Public funding through this campaign helps demonstrate community demand and supports broader institutional adoption.

Measurement and Accountability
SATA is designed to support outcome tracking such as:
• Participant completion rates
• Scenario response accuracy
• Confidence and awareness improvement indicators
These metrics allow sponsoring organizations to evaluate effectiveness and inform future deployment decisions.

Institutional Partnerships and Sponsorships
This GoFundMe campaign provides a public engagement and visibility layer. Larger institutional sponsorships, pilot programs, and bank-specific deployments are handled directly and may include customized reporting, deployment scope, and program alignment.
Banks, credit unions, foundations, and financial institutions interested in partnership opportunities are encouraged to contact TSS Foundation directly.

Moving Scam Prevention Upstream
By supporting this campaign, contributors are helping advance a proactive approach to scam prevention — one that strengthens customer readiness before fraud occurs.

Together, we can reduce scam losses, protect vulnerable customers, and reinforce trust in the financial system.

For Banks & Financial Institutions
TSS Foundation welcomes inquiries regarding pilot programs, customer-focused deployments, and institutional sponsorships aligned with fraud prevention and consumer protection initiatives.
