My sister True Olson and brother-in-law Paul Olson were traveling from Texas to North Carolina to visit our family when their journey took a tragic turn. About six hours from their destination, in Alabama, they were involved in a horrible accident that left both of them badly injured and far from home. They were rushed to UAB hospital, where Paul was admitted to the ICU with multiple broken ribs and other orthopedic injuries. True suffered a fractured lower spine and is in a great deal of pain.

Paul has now developed pneumonia because he cannot cough due to his broken ribs, which has made his recovery even more challenging. Being so far from any close friends or family has made this situation even more difficult for them. True may be discharged soon because she is able to get out of bed, but she has nowhere to go while Paul remains in the hospital. The uncertainty of their recovery timeline and the challenges of being away from home have added to their stress and worry.

All funds raised will go directly to True and Paul to help with medical bills, temporary lodging, and travel expenses. When they are finally able to leave the hospital, they will also need help getting back home.
