Hello everyone, my name is Rheadina and I’m reaching out on behalf of a dear friend who is going through one of the most difficult times in her life. I have been a friend of Trudy's for 10 years. Trudy is someone who will do anything she can for others and works hard to provide for her family. In all the time I've known Trudy, she has always did whatever she could to ensure her girls had all that they needed and everyone else was taken care of.
In October of 2024, Trudy tore her miniscus and ended up needing surgery. After dealing with insurance for months, she finally had the surgery scheduled for February 14th. During that time, Trudy continued working. Yes, she kept cleaning houses, scrubbing floors and tubs, vacuuming, mopping and all the like with a torn miniscus. This just shows you what a hard worker she is. With surgery finally scheduled, she was ready to get some relief from the pain.
Unfortunately, this was not the case.
Once surgery was done, she ended up with an infection that developed into a serious staph infection. It led to 28 days of IV antibiotics at home and has since caused a rare complication called thrombocytosis—an inflammatory disorder that drastically increases the risk of blood clots. Her knee is currently locked, and she’s facing a long, painful recovery through physical therapy, with several more weeks to go.
Because of this, she’s been unable to work. Her mom has been helping with her rent and bills to keep things afloat. But they’re at a breaking point.
My friend has never asked for help like this before—it’s not easy for her—but this situation has left her with no other options. Any support you can give, whether financial or through sharing this campaign, would mean the world to her. Your kindness can help lift a little of the weight off her shoulders as she focuses on healing.
Thank you so much for reading and for caring.
