My name is Troy, and I never imagined I would find myself in this position. For months now, I have been unable to work due to major medical issues, and it has been incredibly difficult to keep up with even the most basic living expenses. Over the past 23 years, I have had multiple heart attacks and am now in congestive heart failure. Last April, I was hospitalized with two blood clots in my right leg, which caused major vascular disease in my lower extremities. Six weeks ago, I was diagnosed with stage three kidney disease. These health challenges have made it impossible for me to maintain steady work, and my financial situation has become dire.
Due to my financial situation, I lost my vehicle (I’m not looking to buy a vehicle with this post), but I still need to get around town for my many doctors' appointments with the help of ride share. My checking account is in the red, and I am currently living in a hotel on the north side of Lafayette. While it’s not the safest area, it is the most affordable place I can find right now. I have always tried to be independent and take care of myself, but these circumstances have left me without income and facing challenges I never expected.
The funds I am raising will go directly toward covering my rent, utilities, phone bill, transportation (including ride shares to get to my many doctors' appointments), groceries, medical bills (including medications), storage rental, and household items. Every bit of support will help me manage these essential needs while I focus on my health and work toward recovery.
