Help Our Brother Troy Get Back on the Road

Our brother Troy needs our support. He’s going through an incredibly tough time right now and could use a little help from all of us.

This year has been especially challenging for Troy. He was carjacked at gunpoint, and though he survived by God’s grace, the experience left him traumatized. The police later recovered his car, but it had a shattered window that needed replacing. Later, the car broke down completely, and without the funds to fix it, Troy had to let it go.

Without a vehicle, Troy now relies on public transportation, something he hasn’t done in years. He wakes up at 4 a.m. every day for work. Having a car used to help him get to work, visit his grandkids, and spend time with family. Now, even simple tasks have become a struggle. Living in a small room adds to the isolation, leaving him feeling trapped and alone at times.

Despite all this, Troy has held onto his sobriety—six years clean from heroin—while navigating an environment full of triggers. He’s a strong man with dreams of moving out of Kensington one day when his finances improve, but for now, he’s just trying to keep going.

We want to help Troy get a car so he can regain his independence and continue moving forward. This car won’t just help him—it will remind him that he’s not alone, that he matters, and that there are people who care.
