Christy Carter here, hoping that this gofundme will allow Trixie Albert to feel a little more comfortable during and after her upcoming lung surgery.

We all know that Trixie is a very loveable person; so much so that a couple of years ago, a friend whom hadn't seen her in awhile, gave her such a huge hug that he cracked her rib. The resulting x-rays showed two tiny nodules, one in each lung. She followed up earlier this year and one biopsy came back benign, the other malignant.

It's a small amount of cancer (1.5 cm), but the surgery will remove one third of her upper lung. Apparently this will ensure that there is no cancer hiding in her lymph nodes. "Because of her young age", her surgeon is confident that this is the most efficient, safe way to eradicate it.

Trixie is told that this will be a painful and long recovery (approximately 3 months). Also, there will be subsequent tests and maybe another biopsy on her other lung in the future, to confirm that she is cancer free.

These future procedures and life expenses during recovery (including the fact that I will be taking some time off from work to support her) are why we are asking for help from our community of friends and family.
