My name is Tony and my wife Trista has been diagnosed with cancer. It’s a rare form of cancer, a sarcoma. We have been to multiple doctors at multiple hospitals. After several CT scans and a biopsy, we recently received the worst news of our lives. Trista has a painful tumor that is compressing nerves. She is in agony; the pain meds she is taking barely have any effect. She is currently going through radiation here in Des Moines. After her radiation therapy is completed, we will be going back to Mayo in Rochester, Minnesota, to hopefully meet with a specialist that treats sarcoma. I pray that this radiation therapy helps shrink her tumor to relieve her pain.
We are at the beginning of this battle now that we have a diagnosis. Trista has been suffering since June. It’s taken this long to know what this is. I’m trying to keep her motivated and encouraged, but this severe pain has her saying things like she can’t do this anymore. We need her; I want her to someday meet her grandchildren and watch them grow. We have 3 children together, 2 boys and one girl. She had two children from a previous marriage, and they are now adults. Their dad sadly passed away a few years ago. I can’t imagine them losing both of their biological parents in such a short time. That’s why I’m determined to get her the help she needs. Our whole family needs her! I’ve been Trista’s husband for 20 years, and I pray we have more than 20 years more together. I love her, and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do. Especially now, I only resorted to starting this GoFundMe to help us with medical and travel expenses. I have no idea what we will need as far as expenses. I set a goal that seemed reasonable considering these circumstances. Please help us with anything you can spare. This beautiful woman and loving mother has a family that needs her here with us. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated. I’m not the type of person to ask for handouts. I just realize we are in a position where we greatly need help!
