Help Tristan Recover After a Serious Ankle Injury and get back to Skateboarding & Coaching
For those who know me, you know that my life revolves around skateboarding. I started skating when I was just two and a half years old, and it’s been my passion ever since. Today I’m fortunate to coach kids and share that passion with them every day. Skateboarding isn’t just what I love to do, it’s also how I make a living.
Unfortunately, this injury means I won’t be able to skate, coach lessons, or work normally for several weeks while my ankle heals.
After being rushed to the emergency room, doctors had to reset my ankle and place it in a cast. After meeting with an orthopedic specialist, I learned that my recovery will be longer than expected and will require surgery, along with follow-up visits, imaging, and rehabilitation.
Even with insurance, the medical bills and recovery costs are quickly adding up. Between emergency care, scans, the cast, specialist appointments, surgery, and physical therapy, the financial burden is overwhelming—especially while I’m unable to work during recovery.
I’m hoping to raise $12,000 to help cover:
• Emergency room treatment
• Imaging and specialist visits
• Surgery and orthopedic care
• Physical therapy and rehabilitation
• Lost income while I’m unable to work.
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m someone who works incredibly hard and usually tries to handle everything on my own. Asking for help isn’t easy, but right now I could really use the support of my community to get through this setback.
My goal is to focus on healing properly so I can get back to skateboarding, coaching, and doing what I love as soon as possible.
If you’re able to contribute, even a small amount truly means a lot. And if you’re not able to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you so much for your support, encouragement, and kindness during this difficult time. — Tristan Sommovigo
