Tristan is my 7-year-old nephew, and his mom, Cieara, is my sister. Tristan is full of joy, loves doing TikToks, and listening to music. Recently, while riding his bike in front of our home, Tristan was struck by a pickup truck. Not only was he hit, but he was dragged up the street and stuck under the car until police arrived. He is now in the ICU with a broken nose, facial fractures, a brain bleed, and a fractured bone in his skull. He also has a fractured ligaments that connect his spine to his neck and must wear a neck brace for at least seven weeks. This has been a devastating experience for our family, and his recovery will be a long and difficult journey. We are all doing our best to support him and each other through this incredibly tough time.

My sister Cieara is a single parent, and Tristan's father is not in the picture. Because of his injuries, Cieara has already had to take time off work, and our family will need to rotate days off to care for Tristan. They are expecting this to take months in the hospital to heal. This means we won’t be able to work as much, but our bills and living expenses don’t stop. We need help to keep our home and cover the costs that keep adding up while we focus on Tristan’s recovery.
