Help Support Tristan Campion’s Fight Against Cancer

Hello, I’m a family friend to the Campion family. I wanted to find a way to assist the family with their financial burden during their time of need.

Tristan Campion, a 22-year-old electrical engineering student at Texas A&M Kingsville, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma of the cheek on January 16, 2025. He is the beloved son of Hattie and Robert Campion, and this diagnosis has turned their world upside down.

After being accepted into MD Anderson Cancer Center, Tristan began his treatment journey in February. Plans for surgery changed dramatically in April when doctors discovered the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes in his neck. On April 17, he underwent extensive surgery: doctors removed a silver-dollar-sized portion of tissue from his cheek, 38 lymph nodes (one of which tested positive for cancer), a spot from his head, and used grafts from his arm for reconstruction.

This has meant weeks away from school, work, and home. Tristan and his family have had to travel back and forth to Houston, incurring significant out-of-pocket costs for lodging, meals, gas, and medical bills. He was recently released from the hospital after a three-week stay and is now working hard in physical therapy, determined to recover and return to school. Tristan is on track to graduate in December 2025—and he’s doing everything he can to make that happen.

This week, the Campion family will find out if Tristan will require six additional weeks of radiation. With the possibility of further treatment ahead, the financial strain continues to grow.

Tristan comes from a family of fighters—his mother, Hattie, is a rectal cancer survivor who went through nine surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. That same strength and resilience runs through him.
