Our beautiful, talented, kind friend Trista is undergoing a craniotomy- brain surgery to clip an aneurysm- on Thursday November 20th.

Aneurysms run in Trista's family, so she scheduled an MRI in the fall of 2024 just for peace of mind. Unfortunately they did find a 5-6mm aneurysm in her brain.

Recovery from this surgery is lengthy and very restrictive. Trista will be unable to work for a minimum of six weeks. She will be unable to drive for at least a month. UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill was the clear choice for her surgery, so she will have travel expenses.

Unfortunately the timing for this surgery means that Trista will be missing out on holiday pottery sales, which generally make up a third of her yearly income.

Procedure and Medications

Loss of income for Trista, including holiday pottery sales and AB Tech teaching wages

loss of income for Francis, who will be traveling with Trista for the surgery and aiding with her recovery

Travel

Outstanding CAT scan bill

Various bills and expenses

The total we’ve come up with does not even cover the cost of the procedure or any medications, because Trista has not yet been given an estimation of the total cost of the procedure. She also is an incredibly humble person and feels uncomfortable asking for more. However, we would love to raise enough to cover both her lost income and all of her medical expenses.
