Patricia (Trish) Ann Kaneaster (Heath) was born on March 14th, 1974 in Seattle, WA. She was raised by her Mother with her sister, Katie Kaneaster, born four years later in 1978. They spent their childhood and young adulthood in various places around Oregon including Eastern Oregon and the Oregon Coast. Trish eventually settled down in the Willamette Valley, in Albany.

In 2004, she gave birth to me, her only child, with Paul Laskey.

On November 5th, 2025, Trish died peacefully with her son at her bedside.

Trish was a strong, independent, and friendly person. She went out of her way to get to know everyone she met, invite them into her life, and make sure their needs were met. She has always been a fighter. 

On November 1st, Trish was admitted to the hospital from septic shock. Due to the length of her sepsis going untreated and without attention, Trish was in critical condition. Doctors gave her only days to live, as she is not a candidate for dialysis, transplant, or any other medical intervention due to other underlying conditions. Her kidneys were failing, her brain was permanently damaged, and Trish could not speak, or make decisions for herself.

She previously struggled with lupus, thyroid disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and chronic pain from her joints, hips, and knees, due to her size- among other conditions. She was in immense pain every day, and her condition has reached a point where comfort-based care was the best option for her well-being.

Trish was placed on inpatient hospice care at Good Samaritan Region Medical Center (GSRMC) in Corvallis, Oregon. She received the care that she needs to be comfortable and pass away peacefully.

The costs of Trish’s medical care are overwhelming. I am raising funds to help cover her deathcare costs, such as cremation & memorial services - as well as the cost of family to be out of work, continue to pay bills for family that was living with Trish, and any other unexpected medical costs associated with Trish's care.

These expenses are large in nature - amounting to over $10,000. Any small donation is momentous to my family.
