Five years ago, our beloved friend and NICU nurse Trisha, better known as TT, began her fight with stage 4 Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. She has two different kinds of lymphoma, which is extremely rare. She has a more aggressive form in her lymph nodes and a less aggressive form (follicular lymphoma) in her bone marrow. Trisha was able to get into remission, but three years later the follicular lymphoma returned in her bones. TT received a stem cell transplant in 2023, and was finally starting to return to her "normal" life!
Unfortunately, Trisha recently learned that the follicular lymphoma has returned in her bones once again. Treatment options are limited since she has already done a stem cell transplant. Trisha is planning on returning to Omaha to try a new therapy, CAR T-cell Therapy. She will be admitted to the ICU for several days or weeks and closely monitored for treatment side effects.
Due to Trisha's new treatment plan, she will be away from family and friends for at least a month and she will be unable to work. After treatment she will be extremely immunocompromised. Unfortunately the bills don't stop coming, despite her being unable to work. Trisha has spent her life caring for her tiny patients, their families, and her own friends and family. Now let's do what we can to help her out and relieve some of the financial burden that comes with her fight against follicular lymphoma!
