Support Trish Cantler's Wildlife Rehab Efforts
Donation protected
My name is Trish Cantler, I am a permitted wildlife rehabilitator in the state of Maryland. I started rehabbing about 10 years ago as an apprentice after leaving my job as an animal control officer. When I started this venture all I had were a few second hand cages and I was rehabbing out of my home in a room that was 10' X 10'. Over the years I have had to expand due to the increase in the number of wildlife needing help, with that expansion also came the increase in cost. I receive no government funding and rely heavily on donations to help pay for vet bills and the various types of formula and food that is needed to raise healthy babies for their eventual release. Within the last year my husband and I were hit with unexpected costs that were needed to keep my doors open, we needed to replace our water heater, the wildlife refrigerator and our wildlife washer and dryer and we have depleted our savings. I also need to replace some of my cages, I am currently having to use duct tape on one as a deterrent from escape, along with the cages I also need to replace one of my incubators that I lost during a storm. My biggest goal right now is to keep everyone fed and since the pandemic the cost of goods have risen while donations have remained low and I could really use the help.
