Tripp Story is the happy, tough, and extraordinarily curious 2-year-old son of Stephanie and Justin Story. However, little Tripp's toddler adventures have been interrupted by unfortunate health complications and an exhausting, lengthy, and complicated hospitalization. Tripp must remain in the hospital for the next few weeks or even more. Tripp has navigated neurovascular complications throughout his life; his health largely depends on the function of a shunt or stent (inserted in or near his developing brain). Recently, abnormal swelling necessitated intensive medical treatment and specialized care.
This unfair situation ubiquitously includes adjacent burdens and costs which would overwhelm any loving parent. Stephanie and Justin Story are working to stay strong for Tripp and their three other children. However, this extended fight for Tripp's progress at the UNM Hospital - over an hour away from their home - has imposed daunting uncertainty. No parent can possibly prep from circumstances that Stephanie and Justin now face; but, regardless of uncertainty, they won't give up. They are great parents.
Both Stephanie and Justin have contributed to our community (Grants NM) in very impactful ways. On a regular basis, Stephanie gratuitously countless late-night hours patiently coordinating with prosecutors and law enforcement officers through unsettling situations. Through her zealous efforts, she has earned the respect of every dedicated officer. Meanwhile, Justin has helped the DWI Compliance office address difficult situations. While helping supervise probationers, he has garnered surprising improvements of certain individuals. Indeed, the work of Stephanie and Justin have made our community a safer place.
For the Story family, who invest so much for us (especially for law enforcement), we now have the opportunity invest in their battle for Tripp's recovery.
