My name is Becky, Trinity is my 16 year old niece, and she needs your help. I know times are hard now and many struggle financially. If you can't help financially, maybe you could say a prayer and share Trinity's story.
Support Trinity Waelterman’s Fight Against Stage 4 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma
Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Strangers,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts to share the story of our beloved niece, Trinity Waelterman, a brave 16-year-old warrior currently fighting stage 4 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. This aggressive cancer began in her soft tissue and has metastasized to her bones, affecting her legs, arms, shoulders, neck, spine, pancreas, and even her lungs. With a survival rate of only 7%, Trinity’s battle is daunting, but we believe in the incredible power of hope and community support.
Trinity will undergo a rigorous 46-week chemotherapy treatment plan designed to combat this aggressive illness:
- Week 1: Trinity will receive three different chemotherapy drugs aimed at aggressively targeting the cancer.
- Weeks 2 and 3: She will receive one type of chemotherapy each week, allowing her body to recover from the intensive week just prior.
- Week 4: The cycle will repeat with three chemotherapies administered once again.
- Weeks 5 and 6: Trinity will continue on the one-chemo-per-week schedule, then cycle back through this plan, maintaining this schedule for the full 46 weeks.
This treatment will undoubtedly be physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting for Trinity and her family. Her father, Terry Waelterman, my baby brother, has been a devoted single parent, raising Trinity and her two siblings under challenging circumstances. This journey has created a significant financial burden, and we are asking for your help to ease this strain.
Your contributions will help in the following ways:
1. Medical Expenses: While health insurance will cover some costs, many essential treatments and medications remain out-of-pocket.
2. Travel Costs: The family faces ongoing travel expenses for trips to and from the hospital, which include fuel, parking, and potential lodging needed during extended stays.
3. Housing Stability: We aim to assist Terry in securing a suitable and accessible apartment or home to provide Trinity with a safe haven during her treatment.
4. Reliable Transportation: It’s critical that they have dependable transportation to ensure they can consistently attend chemotherapy sessions. Funds will go toward repairing or replacing their current vehicle.
Every dollar raised will go directly to supporting Trinity and her family as they navigate this challenging battle. We are incredibly grateful for any support you are able to offer, whether financial, sharing this campaign with your networks, or simply sending your love and prayers.
Thank you for taking the time to read Trinity’s story and for considering a contribution to help her and her family during this difficult journey. Together, we can make this road a little easier for Trinity, Terry, and her siblings.
With love and gratitude,
Becky Hansel
